CHOCOLATE PANCAKES

Ingredients

  • 1 cup(s) SPAR long life milk
  • 1 SPAR egg
  • 2 tablespoon(s) SPAR Margarine
  • 1 cup(s) SPAR Plain Flour
  • 5 tablespoon(s) Cocoa powder
  • 1 cup(s) Castor sugar
  • 1 teaspoon(s) Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon(s) Salt
  • 6 teaspoon(s) SPAR Canola oil for frying

Method

  1. Place the egg, milk and margarine into a bowl and whisk together until well blended.
  2. In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add the milk mixture to the dry mixture and whisk until all ingredients are well blended, and the consistency of the batter is smooth.
  4. Add a teaspoon of canola oil to the frying pan. Heat to medium to low heat, depending on your stove.Once hot enough, pour a quarter of a cup of the batter mixture into the pan.
  5. Flip the pancake once the batter has set around edges. Continue cooking until the pancake is firm.
  6. Once the pancakes are cooked, sprinkle over some castor sugar and add your favourite toppings (optional).
